Classes details Introduction to Avacal College of Heralds and how to get involved (1 hr)

Instructor: Dame Arwyn of Leicester.

Heraldry in Avacal has lots of things to be involved in. Voice heraldry includes introductions of combatants at tournaments, making announcements, doing courts for our royals. Administrative Heraldry includes Order of Precedent recording, helping with the website and databases, writing ceremonies and other protocols, helping update the manuals and handbooks, our submission role which is mostly administrative to help put the information into OSCAR (come learn what is). Consulting and Submissions help new and existing members find names, create household names and badges, develop and design devices or coats of arms and we need both people who like to draw and design things along with people who like to research and find stuff. Of course, heraldry has displays like banners, scrolls and other artistic things so we need artisans too. We are also working on accessibility and other activities to support DEIB. So many ways to get involved. Come find your way to help our kingdom and grow our college. Meet the team and ask questions.

Feedback that makes a difference

Instructor: Duchess Asney Grimolfrsdottir.

Learn how self-reflection and constructive feedback can build trust, strengthen relationships, and improve communication. Explore the SBI model, when to give effective feedback, why difficult conversations are avoided, and why even well-prepared conversations can go sideways. Join us for this practical and engaging class and build your confidence for having better conversations.

Accessing Officer email, OneDrive, and other resources

Instructors: Roxanne and Raoul Delaroche.

Thank you for volunteering! So now you have an officer email. What does that give you? Why is that important? How can you use it? We will show you how to access and effectively use your email, OneDrive, Teams, & M365 tools to your advantage. If you have a device to use, feel free to bring it with you. If Raoul can convince Roxanne, he can teach you too!!
