Derived from "demonstration." SCA demos are put on for the modern public, and can take almost any venue. Locally, we do demos at theaters, schools, universities, and for civic organizations. The demo staff is made up of willing volunteers who wish to share a craft or skill. The person is charge of the demo is called a demo coordinator ('demo-crat' was already taken). ;)
