Live Steel

Sharpened metal weaponry -- swords, daggers, pikes, axes, etc. Live steel (aka sharp steel) is dangerous, and NEVER to be wielded in "fun." Stupidity with live weapons will meet with a very low level of tolerance.

It's fine to yell "CLEAR!" to make room to swing a weapon around once the area is secure, but we NEVER draw live steel weapons on each other save for the occaisional very carefully choreopgraphed theatrical piece. Not all steel being carried around is sharp, but for safety's sake, please assume that it IS.

As a sidenote, if you are looking at a live steel weapon, please do not touch the blade with your figners, as the acids on your skin can etch the steel permanently. The correct way to examine a long blade is to lay it across your sleeve to examine it. This keeps it clean.

NEVER TOUCH ANYONE ELSE'S WEAPON (or anything else) WITHOUT PERMISSION. This includes merchants. Always ask first.
