A persona is a role created for the purpose of interacting within the realms of the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism).
(Technically, a persona is a role, as that of an actor, a character in a drama, or even a public face adopted by an individual.)
While it may be as simple as a first name and a set of clothing, it may also include tableware, camping equipment, and any other accessories that make the appearance more compelling. Some go so far as to develop a back-story (rarely heard, but may turn up sideways in conversation), or even learn a new language. Most SCA people fall into the middle ground.
