Overview

The San Ignatius is a household within the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), operating as a pirate vessel on the high seas of the Known World. Known for their distinct maritime presence, camaraderie, and questionable interpretation of salvage laws, the crew of the San Ignatius can frequently be found participating in gambling (completely honestly, we promise), being raucous at the Gloriana tent at Quad War site, making Jell-o with questionable ingredients, abusing cheap beer with pointy sticks, and doing what the Crown needs done.

History

Named after a good friend of the Captain, Ignatius Brix, who has passed on, the crew came together under a common banner to bring joy and entertainment to the good people of Avacal. Our crew is active in running events and creating venues and activities that celebrate many aspects of the SCA. Our Gunner Duke Rorik runs The Surly Duke Bardic Party, Captain Vicente can be found entertaining people with song and guitar, our Chief Mutineer Hamelin makes sure the Gloriana tent is up to provide all with a place to play games, sing songs and keep dry. The entire crew has started a new Quad War tradition - the pig roast at the Castle, where Jell-o shots and pork are served in great quantities by donation.
