Naming Your Event Page

  • The default format is: "EventName ASYear/ModernYear". e.g. For this year's "War Practice" the event name would be "War Practice XL/2005". Help with AS Year characters.
  • If the event name isn't unique in the Kingdom, add the branch name to the beginning. e.g. For this year's Baronial Banquet in Madrone, it would be "Madrone Baronial Banquet XL/2005" (to distinguish it from "Three Mountains Baronial Banquet XL/2005" or "Lions Gate Baronial Banquet XL/2005"). Sorry there aren't any Avacalian examples.
  • Examples from the Wiki: Montengarde Twelfth Night XL/2016, September Crown AS LVIII/2023

Repeating Events

  • Events that repeat every year get their own home "EventName" page which lists the events through the years.
  • Using the examples from above, these would be called "Troll Stomp" and "Madrone Baronial Banquet".
  • This page should include the [[Category:Events]] tag at the bottom so that it will be automatically listed on the Category:Events page.
  • Examples from the Wiki: Quad War, Winter Crown
  • Sample link path: Category:Events > Winter Crown > Winter Crown AS LVII/2023

Load the Event Template

  1. To load in the default event template to your blank event page, type this at the top of the blank page: {{subst:EventTemplate}}
  2. Click the "Save page" button. Click the "Edit" tab to go back into the page.
  3. Replace all instructions (text in brackets) and all text that starts with "Sample:" with real information. Use the "Show preview" button often to see what your content looks like.
  • Don't forget to include a link to the branch on your event page, and a link to your event on your branch page.
  • Tip: Calendar copy for Avacal events back to July 2014 can be found on the old Avacal website at http://www.avacal.org/Lists/AvacalCalendar/AllItems.aspx Click All Items. This can be very useful when you're trying to reconstruct events in the past. Other sources are Facebook, branch websites and Kingdom/Principality Newsletters. **Please do not publish any contact information such as modern names, phone numbers, addresses or emails no matter how out of date it is.**
