The words of Duke Tiernan and the tale of the beginning of the Shipcrew.

Listen land-bound, and let your folk hear

The grave sea-growl god-granted verse,

Of spray-splattering ships, sweet in a man's ear,

Of wide-faring warriors, of Waveraper's prowl.

In ancient days dire, Daegar Fair-hair,

Gunnar's-get , golden Hersir,

Announced at winter's-end accolades he would win.

Sailing the swan-road wealth he would seek.

At Ursulmas he urged, "Upon Aegir's road

Let the sea-skilled men seek word-fame."

Fame undying, foretold Fairhair, would belong to those

Who wavered not and Waveraper's crew joined.

Closely clamored those keen on battle-fame winning.

Of Battle-breakers gathered, best were those

Who heeded the call of the king's Hersir.

Mighty were the men made his shield mates.

Of those battle brave men,

One stands before you this day.

He comes e'en now to lay claim to that which, by right of arms, is his.

Behold the Warrior Prince, Arnsbjorn Tiernanson.

Of heroes bold, woven words are many,

to speak of the Gift of Grace the battle bard must unlock the true mead of thought.

Listen now to the words of Arnsbjorn unfurled in honour of Swan White Inga.

Let them travel the swan road of the mind.

On the breath of Njord words swim swiftly,

Peace Givers name on the nine planes.

Gold of Goddess given,

Fair is she, who won hero's heart.

In eyes of blue shines souls strength,

Brow's white woods,

cover skies light gleaming.

Midgards flower makes hero more.

Life toucher gives soul’s gift.

Sunbeam heart helps happily.

Gentle Peace Weaver pleases soul’s eye,

Heart of life lifts laughter.

Golden soul sings softly,

to heroes hard heart.

Shining smile shows love,

lighting the path of life.

See now golden Sif standing,

She who makes Hero's heart happy,

She who strengthens swift battle snake wielder,

Inga comes now to this place, to claim that which, by right of inspiration, is Hers.

Minds worth of Warrior worthy, and Gracious Gold Giver are spoken,

Now Dread King, and Glorious Queen, do Prince Arnsbjorn and Princessa Inga seek entrance into this court.
