Generally speaking, "regalia" refers to tokens which indicate rank or office. Regalia can be jewelry (typically chains and medallions), headgear (crowns, coronets and circlets), accessories (belts, gloves, favours, baldrics), or clothing (generally heraldic cloaks and mantles).
See Sumptuary Laws for a description of the types of regalia common in Avacal.
While much regalia is personal, much of the regalia in Avacal is "official", that is to say, belonging to an office. When a person steps down from an office, the regalia of that office is passed along to the next officer or noble. This has given great provenance to many items.
