This is a relax A&S tournament that is similar to the Heavy Squires Tournament! QPT offers artisans the opportunity to display an arts & sciences project. Entrants must have a “sponsor” who is a either member of the Order of the Argent Flame (or equivalent) or the Order of the Laurel.

QPT welcomes all projects, whether they are complete, in progress, or perhaps not what the artist had hoped. Experienced artists and artisans (sometimes called “judges”) meet with the entrant to discuss the project including methodology, what went well, what can be improved, and to possibly provide advice on how to improve or solve a particular challenge. All types of projects are welcomed! Both period, non-period, and SCA-isms are welcomed!

The sponsors must prepare prizes equal to the number of entrants they are sponsoring. The sponsors then choose an entrant to give their prize to, in this way, every entrant receives a prize. Sponsors do not provide a prize directly to the entrants they are sponsoring.

Unlike Kingdom Arts & Sciences, there is no score for the project. The point of this tournament is to have discussions about the project, not to grade it. At the end of the event, there are special prizes for the Judges' Choice, the Princess' Choice (when applicable) and the Queen's Choice. Sound like fun?

Rules:

Entrant Information
* Entrants must be sponsored by a Companion of the Order of the Argent Flame, Order of the Jambe de Lion, or a Companion to the Order of the Laurel.
* Each entrant is entitled to one entry.

Sponsor Information
* Sponsors may sponsor a maximum of three entries.
* Sponsors may not judge the entrants they sponsored.
* Sponsors must bring one prize per each entrant sponsored. These prizes will be awarded at Court and must be awarded to entrants who were sponsored by another sponsor.
* Sponsors can not enter the tourney themselves.

Prizes
* Her Royal Majesty will award the Queen's Prize for the entry or entries of her choice.
* Each entrant will receive a prize from one of the sponsors.
* Those individuals judging entries at Queen's Prize shall vote towards the recipient of a Judge's Choice Award.

FAQ:

What should I enter?

*Anything you've made yourself in the last little while. There are no category restrictions, so have fun and make something cool! Sca’isms and perioud items are encouraged!

What if my piece isn't finished?

*No problem! Bring what you've got and we'll chat with you about it. You can show us your ideas, ask for help to figure out what to do next, kvetch about how everything went wrong and all of a sudden caught fire...

What kind of 'research' or 'documentation' do I need?

*Documentation of any kind is not required, but it's sometimes nice to bring along information about what inspired you to make your item. Even if it's a picture of the thing, some rough doodles, a reference to a movie or TV show, it's all great! If you want to write stuff down, we love to see your information and will happily gab about it, but there's no pressure to perform.

What is a sponsor and how do I get one?

*A sponsor is someone who is a member of a Kingdom Grant Level A&S award, or Laurel. Just like Squire for a Day, you will be Apprenticed for the day! Your sponsor will assist you in the tourney. They will act as a coach and offer advice and guidance. If you want to enter, but don’t know how to ask someone, reach out to me, and I can act as matchmaker for you!
